Yoga literally translates to “union.” It is an ancient and multi-dimensional practice of connecting within and unifying with the world all around us. The 3 major aspects of yoga I teach are asana (physical postures), pranayama (breath regulation), and dhyana (meditation).

Asana practice helps to build power, strength, balance, coordination, mobility, and flexibility. True strength is created from the bones out to the ligaments, tendons, and muscles. With effective alignment and technique, your body weight is more than enough mass to develop mind-blowing power! Most importantly, asana promotes healing and prevents your physical body from being a burden in your life. As the body develops strength and flexibility with consistent practice, your organs are massaged through each asana, improving organ efficiency that will promote greater overall health. This physical yoga practice will also cleanse the body of old and unhealthy habits and emotions to create space for new and greater potentials.

Pranayama techniques promotes oxygen intake, strengthens the nervous system, and purifies the organs. Oxygen is the one thing we need the most to sustain life. With more efficient oxygen absorption, breath regulation promotes a tremendous boost in focus and vitality.

Dhyana practice clears and steadies the mind, enhances mental clarity, and reduces stress. The present moment is all we have and is all that really matters. If we can make the most out of each moment and focus on controlling only what we can control, everything in our life will improve. Meditation can also be known as “mindfulness.” It anchors us in the present moment, allows us to find that flow state, helps to connect with our true authentic selves, and be in touch with our inner wisdom – our intuition.

The complete practice of yoga allows us to reach our greatest potentials and live life through love and authenticity. We really become super-humans, no joke ;)
